An excellent historical landmark by the sea with enthusiastic and educational staff and a huge host of annual activities for families such as jousting tournaments! Reasonably priced and well maintained, it's a perfect day out in the summer time.

For history & nature lovers, this castle is really amazing and deserves a visit. Be aware that the coffee shop inside is closing at nearly 3pm. The city deserves hole day visit. I suggest that you have to be in the city at 10am in order to have enough time to visit castle and do some little hike to the castle and down to the beach.

Such a beautiful place and wonderful history. I really loved watching the sea by myself, it felt peaceful. Great tea, friendly staff.

Well preserved ruins, well stocked (if pricey gift shop). Scarborough Castle's history stretches from Roman times all the way to World War 1, and is carefully explained on the many information boards around the grounds. Being an English Heritage site it is quite expensive to visit (unless you are an English Heritage member), but they often have workshops, re enactments and even jousting taking place throughout the year that makes the cost well worth while!

It's look very ordinary unless you know it's a 3000 years old heritage. Great for history lovers. Can bring your dogs. Big ground. Kids can run to and fro all around. Picturesque view. Toilet facilities inside in gift shop. Only problem is they don't have their own customer parking. We had to park out the castle. It was Sunday. But still 2 hrs free. All around is pay parking. That might be thought of before having a visit here.
