An excellent service provided by Halfords, Scarborough. The oil change light came up on my Focus and I found that Halfords services cost far less than services by main dealers. The service was not just restricted to an oil change, but included filters brake checks, tyre checks , coolant check and numerous other checks. There was no pressure to buy additional products or "you need ........". The staff were friendly, extremely helpful and very quick and efficient. You can see the technicians at work from a viewing area and that instills confidence. The work area was clean and tidy and the whole operation seems to run smoothly. 1st MOT and main service due in June and it is nearly half the price of the main Ford dealer just down the road, who I have no faith in and have ripped me off in the past. I am confident that Halfords will do an excellent job at a very reasonable rate. Let me just add that customers are given a quote up front and they can chose to accept it or take their car elsewhere. The staff do not profit from the cost of any service they provide. One person complains that they failed to notice a broken exhaust when checking the tyres. Well you do not go under the car to do a tyre or brake pad inspection and I'm sure if my exhaust was in such a poor state I would have noticed the change in the sound on start up each day. Halfords did what they were asked to do. I suppose that had they told him he needed a new exhaust the customer would have said they were just trying to tout for more business. Others on here give negative feedback without any explanation justifying their feedback and are not credible.
Fitted me in for an urgent MOT. Price was best available in Scarborough and on New year's eve too. Staff member was great and all done in less than an hour

Called in unannounced to get a headlamp bulb changed. Work was carried out immediately. Staff very friendly. No complaints!
Staff were learning a new IT system so customers were waiting to be spoken to when presenting themselves at the counter. Great price, timely completion of job overall happy. Downsides? If you are waiting for a job take a flask and have a wee before you go. No tea/coffee facilities and no toilet facilities, compounded by its location in a retail park with no retail food and drink outlet.
