Me and my son visited in the hope to find something different. Nope!. We saw from the que it was one big sales pitch kind of run like Disney Land. More than enthusiastic teenagers dressed up to the point of sickly like they had painted smiles and bounced about like they where on stimulant's. We made a hasty retreat. Good if you've got very young kids who love sugary teenagers.
Loads to see highlights are the manta rays, penguins, seals, otters and giant crabs.Penguin walk through is great viewing area below the waterline for them and the seal tank- Currently no charge to park but will in summer season but tickets have been transferable to larger council car parks in the town so think carefully before choosing how long to pay for - close to cliff railway so can incorporate day out to peashome park with Sea life and ride on the train
Booked our tickets in advanced and saved 20. You have to book a time slot of your arrival. No parking to pay at beginning of the year but will have to in peak season. You have a photo taken at the beginning and option to buy later. Our 8 month old loved it. All the colours, sounds and movement. We ended up carrying him so he could see better. There is a point where there are steps. I don't know if they have and hidden ramps or lifts for disabled? There is an out side bit with seals, penguins and otters. Gift shop, cafe and toilet at the end. Took us and hr to get round and it was not busy. I would of like to of gone round again but may of had to walk back the same way? But we enjoyed it. X
Amazing place to visit for any animal lover for any age. I'm 35 and absolutely loved my trip here. From the rays at the start in a tank you can literally stick your head through and get amazing views and pictures. To pink jellyfish which were captivating, the tunnel where you have sharks and turtles was amazing to see, as were the seals being fed. The highlight for me was the penguins. You actually go in to their enclosure and one penguin called custard is walking around your feet. It was brilliant. Also the feeding later on. Well worth the price (buy online for discounts). I would 100% visit here again.
Absolutely wonderful and had a brilliant time with the family. Thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the aquarium and the interaction with the penguins had our little one in fits of laughter. The staff were very friendly throughout and very knowledgeable, answering questions and pointing things out to us.Highly recommended if your around the area for kids of all ages.
